The topic I am thinking about doing my research paper on is the major operations in any hospitality industry. It deals with a wide variety of many different topics. Among one of those topics is security in the hospitality industry such as hotels, restaurants, convention centers, and even country clubs. The reason why security is essential to the hospitality industry is because there are many different people trafficking through the establishment at all times which makes it easy to commit a crime in such a place. A third party security force needed to pay all of their attention on that aspect of the business so the establishment can function in a safe environment. Sanitation is another main topic dealing with hospitality industries especially food industries. There will be random inspectors inspecting the establishment for any signs of filth and mistreatment of sanitary protocol. Also, when dealing with food there are many types of health-hazards that can arise coming from uncooked and or poorly handled food and food surfaces. Another factor dealing with the sanitation aspect is receiving of the food from the usually reputable food vendor to your establishment. When receiving a shipment of food form you supplier there are steps to take to make sure your product is undamaged and clean enough to bring in to your establishment. Making sure your product is undamaged, clean, and held at the right temperature prevents bacteria from forming on and in the food. Those are just two topics of many that are taken into consideration every day in the hospitality industry.

Kubickova, Marketa, and Heejung Ro. "Are Students "Real People?" EBSCOhost. EBSCO. Web
The article focuses on a study that examines a study group comprised of three separate groups (hospitality major students, students of other majors, and non-students). This study attempts to magnify the insight of service failure in the hospitality industry. Researchers use the three groups in providing them with the research and evaluating the research. The article also debates on whether or not students should be used as research because of their lack of commitment to a variety of topics. The article is important to my research because it offers insight on a study which proved that hospitality students would be more critical in evaluating their peers.

Reaction to the Article "Attatched to Technology and Paying a Price"
My first reaction to this article was that Mr. Campbell was way in over his head in regards to multi-tasking. His "work station" was comprised of 3 computer monitors and sometimes an iphone or an ipad with numerous windows displayed on each one. I do not believe I fully understand and actually oppose the idea that people blame technology for being distracted when they have a primary responsibility to accomplish. In my mind, I believe everyone has the power and control over their environments and because the person blames technology for their mishaps they are making excuses for the actions in which they "chose" to persue. If you miss an assignment, regardless of what or whome it is for, and you blame your failure on a pop-up or tweet then you are scared and insecure about the fact that you chose to do a leisure function rather than accomplishing what you absolutely need to finish.
Hello and what's up!
My name is Alex and I am 20 years old. My birthday is coming up in 8 days and I'm very excited. I am currently enrolled in Indiana University of Pennsylvania and major in Hospitality Management. I love learning new things about myself and life in general. I try to take each day for what it is and live in the now rather then worrying and stressing out about the things in which we cannot control.
